While Kentfield does not have a town center, it is situated at the base of Mt. Tamalpais and is well known for its natural beauty. The Community College of Marin draws a diverse and young population and the state of the art facilities provide for arts, theater and athletics. A beautiful bike/walking path borders Corte Madera Creek and cuts through the center of Kentfield. Most homes are within walking distance to Bacich Elementary School and Kent Middle school. Kentfield is bordered by both Larkspur, Ross and Greenbrae. Resident population is 6400. The town is located approximately 3 miles from Highway 101 and 16 miles north of San Francisco.
